CFIA has identifying several deficiencies associated with the existing incinerator at their Lethbridge Laboratory. The incinerator is a Voltec Industries, Vertec model #1000 TLM. This unit is original to the building and has a throughput capacity of 400kg/hr. It is a single pass incinerator and is located over two different operating levels in the building. The unit has 4 fuel master burners ranging in output. Two high output burners are located in the lower chamber while two slightly smaller burners are located in the upper chamber. This incinerator has a 25 m stack. Upgrades are required to bring the incinerator to current legislative requirements and operating technologies.
