Natural Resources Canada has a software requirement to simulate rupture of a pipeline containing a CO2 fluid using Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI). Consequently, the software must have FSI capabilities that can be used to analyze large-scale structures. The simulation software must be able to capture the fluid response of both a liquid and gas (at the same time), as well as fracture (or crack propagation) of the pipeline (structure).
