In order to establish a base camp for fieldwork about 70 kms northeast of Goose Lake exploration camp, Nunavut, the GEM-2 Thelon-Chantrey Project requires drummed fuel, camp gear and samples to be staged via the Goose Lake airstrip between the dates of June 23, 2014 to July 17, 2014. This staging involves DASH-7 flights (operated by Air Tindi) into Goose Lake (from Yellowknife, NWT), and unloading of drummed fuel and camp gear at Goose Lake before it is loaded onto a twin otter plane (also operated by Air Tindi) for transport to the base camp. Partway and at the end of the field season, twin otter flights will bring samples, empty fuel drums, and camp gear into Goose Lake where they will be loaded on a twin otter backhaul flights to Yellowknife.
