Library and Archives Canada (LAC) has a variety of videotape formats that it intends to digitize for preservation purposes and, when possible, make the content accessible online for research purposes.

LAC requires a Contractor to digitize videotape content to MXF (Material eXchange Format) wrapped JPEG2000 files for preservation purposes and H.264 MP4 files for access purposes. 

Library and Archives Canada intends to award one (1), two (2) or three (3) contracts because the bidders will have the opportunity to bid on one (1) videotape format, two (2) videotape formats or three formats (3) videotape formats.  The resulting contract(s) will be for a period of one (1) year.
