Introduction The grey seal program (DFO/Science/Population Ecology Division) maintains two field camps on Sable Island for research purposes. Other infrastructure includes, two garages and fuel sheds to run generators and ATVs. The field program requires a yearly resupply of fuel and dry goods delivered by barge to the island. Possible resupply items include: drum fuel, all-terrain vehicles, appliances and dry food stuffs. Contracting Period On or about June 1, 2015 through to May 31, 2016, with options to renew for 2 additional 1 year periods at the sole discretion of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). Objectives of the Requirement The vessel is to carry out a resupply to support scientific operations on Sable Island. This will be comprised of one trip between June and August for a total of up to 6 sea days. A typical list of supplies to include • 20-30 drums of fuel • 1 or 2 ATV’s • 3 to 6 100 lb propane cylinders • lumber and other types of construction materials • roughly 3 pallets of dry goods (supplies) Return loads could include • 15-30 empty barrels • 5-10 barrels with waste material • defunct ATVs • old fencing and siding and • Construction bags full of general waste.
