    Construction Work Summary:
    
    The work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for the restoration of the Cape Spear Light Tower, Newfoundland, in strict accordance to specifications and accompanying drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the contract.
    
    In general, work under this contract will consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: 
         
    1.	Re-painting of the exterior galvanized steel catwalk railings.  General requirements will include pressure washing (or abrasive blasting) to remove all existing coatings that are on the steel surfaces. Power tool clean to roughen the exposed galvanized surface and to remove all rust that has developed on the surface.  Prime and coat surface.
    2.	Re-painting of the exterior of the concrete tower.  General requirements include pressure wash the entire exterior concrete structure to remove any loose coatings and other contaminants that are on the surface.  Apply 1 coat of touch-up coat coating to any bare concrete areas
    3.	Supply and installation of a new door frame and door (complete with hardware), for the entrance.
    4.	Removal of all the paint from the walls, floor and ceilings (down to the bare concrete) on the interior of the tower.
    5.	Replacement of the interior and exterior metal bands on the lower window and attach with stainless steel bolts. (Paint panel inside and outside).
    6.	Repairs to the exterior concrete steps leading up to the tower.
    7.	Removal of existing shingled roof and installation of new torched-on roofing for the shed and dwelling. 
    
    Mandatory Site Visit:
    
    DFO has scheduled a Mandatory Site Visit for Monday, June 22, 2015 @ 11:00 am.  
    1.	Contractors wishing to visit the site are required to submit their coordinates to the Contracting Authority two (2) days prior. 
    2.	A maximum of two (2) persons per Contractor will be permitted entry into the building. 
    3.	Time allocated on site will be two (2) hours. 
    4.	The Contractor is responsible for all costs associated with getting to /from the site in Cape Spear, NL.
