    Floating Breakwater, Arnold’s Cove, NL
    
    The scope of work for this project consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment, and material for the construction of a new floating breakwater at Arnold’s Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador. The work will be completed in strict accordance with the specification and accompanying drawings, and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.  Bidders are advised that opportunities and requirements may arise that may warrant changes to the work that are in keeping with this general scope of work.  Such changes will be made through the Change Order processes as outlined in the contract documents.
    
    The project work will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:
     
    •	Construction of a new 9.15m wide and 9.15m long treated timber floating breakwater, consisting of galvanized steel gusset plates, HDPE pipe, rubber tires, mooring lines and concrete mooring blocks seated on the  harbour bottom, as detailed on the drawings.
    
    •	All timber, fasteners, metal fabrications and all other miscellaneous materials required for breakwater construction.
    
    
    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
    
    Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
    
    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29.06 – Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
