    Security Requirements: This contract does not include security requirements.

    Nature of Requirements:

    The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.

    The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to rent emergency backup generators until completion of the project for the upgrade of existing configuration.

    Objectives: The service provider is to provide a 500KW, portable, fully enclosed, generator for emergency backup power purposes. The unit is to be delivered and installed at the Dorchester Penitentiary. The unit is to be electrically tied-in to existing CSC infrastructures transfer switches. The system is to come on automatically in the event of a power outage and provide control signals to CSC systems for automatic transfer of ASCO™, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS).

    Deliverables:

    1. A commissioning report must be submitted once installation of the unit has been completed identifying the system is capable of producing 3 phase power with a wave form deviation of less than 2% (line to line). The report will also demonstrate a tolerance of less than 2% on Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). The report shall be submitted in English.

    2. All automatic control features to be built-in the generator must be set for automatic starts during power outage.

    3. The trailer must:

      1. Have the entire generator unit including all sub components self-contained

      2. The generator is not to require any external power source

      3. Power output must be no less than five (500) kilowatts

      4. The unit generator frequency must be 60 Hertz and must supply 600 Volts AC

      5. The fuel tank capacity of the units must be large enough to have the capability of providing enough fuel for a minimum of eight (8) hours of continuous operation under load

      6. The length of the units including the tow bar must be towable on a standard roadway

      7. Trailer to have automatic exhaust louvers for heat dissipation while engine is running

      8. Trailer to be fitted with adequate electrical conductors for tie-in to CSC automatic transfer switches

    4. The Supplier is responsible for:

      1. The delivery and pick up of the unit(s), including off-loading, on-loading, and any required initial installation at the site

      2. All maintenance and repairs of the units during the rental period

      3. A rental unit which is deemed to be unserviceable for a period of four (4) hours or more will be replaced by the Supplier within twenty-four (24) hours of notification with a unit equivalent or better

      4. The provision of an on-site Service Technician to be "on-call" twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week during the rental period

      5. The provision of a direct contact line to the Service Representative

      6. The tie-in of the rental unit to existing Correctional Service Canada automatic transfer switch for automatic start of generator set during power outage
