Medical Physician - H Division, Halifax, Nova Scotia: Standing Offer

This bid solicitation cancels and supersedes previous bid solicitation number M4000-062247/A dated September 11, 2015 with a closing of September 29, 2015 at 02:00pm ADT. A debriefing or feedback session will be provided upon request to bidders/offerors/suppliers who bid on the previous solicitation.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have a requirement for a medical physician, on an as and when requested basis. Work under this Standing Offer will involve the following: the services of a Contractor who is a designated physician, to perform medical evaluations on candidates being considered for recruitment into the RCMP. Periodic occupational health assessments of civilian employees and laboratory personnel working with chemicals, dangerous goods or designated substances may be required. Also included in the Standing Offer are health assessments to determine fitness for duty of regular police officers, which includes determinations of suitability to perform maximal exertion to use a firearm and to perform professional driving of emergency vehicles, as well as determination of medical suitability for isolated posting and foreign duties. Disability case management is also required and requires constant research into the best treatment plans for illnesses and injuries.

To ensure the RCMP’s operational requirements are maintained, delivery of the services will be at the RCMP Occupational Health Clinic in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This health facility includes all necessary equipment and supplies.

The period of this Standing Offer is one (1) year, with the two (2) options to renew the period of the Contract, each for an additional one (1) year period.
