    DELIVERABLES / SCOPE OF WORK

    The scope of work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment, and material for shoreline protection repairs at Torbay, NL. The work will be completed in strict accordance with the specification and accompanying drawings, and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.

    The project work will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

    • Removal of the existing armour stone and filter stone in the location noted on the drawings. Existing rock can be re-used in the new work, if meeting the size requirements noted on the drawings. Excess rock is to be removed from site;
    • Supply and installation of new geotextile, filter stone and armour stone, as noted on the drawings;
    • Supply and installation of rock/gravel fill and granulars, as noted on the drawings; and
    • Supply and installation of pre-cast concrete culvert/pipe, as noted on the drawings.

    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE

    Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29.06 – Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.

    Expected Start and Completion Dates

    The services of the Contractor will be commencing upon award of the contract. The expected completion date of this project is October 21st, 2016.
