SCOPE OF WORK / DELIVERABLES:
The work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for restoration of the Cape St. Mary’s Light Tower, NL, in strict accordance with specifications and accompanying drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.
In general, work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to the following:
Removal of the lead based paint from the exterior of the tower.
Re-surfacing the exterior concrete tower using BASF Masterbrace system, as shown on the drawings.
Re-painting the tower (concrete tower and aluminum enclosure).
New catwalk railing (full perimeter)
New windows and doors as noted on the drawings.
Note that lead paint is present on the structure and measures will have to be implemented in the Contractor’s work plan to limit occupational exposure to lead.
All scaffolding used in the work is to bear the stamp of a professional engineer licensed to practice by PEG-NL.
Datum used for this project is Lowest Normal Tides (LNT). If requested by the Contractor, the Departmental Representative will establish a benchmark prior to the start of deconstruction activities.
FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE:
Two site visits will be held, attendance at one of the two is Mandatory.
Option #1 will be held on July 13, 2016.
Option #2 will be held on July 14, 2016.
