Lobster fishing area 34 (LFA34) is off the southwest coast of Nova Scotia, and where a lobster survey is annually conducted. The survey assesses the state of the lobster resource for the purpose of stock assessment to help make decisions on the management of this species. Survey catch is processed to collect biological information to characterize lobster stocks. Data obtained from this survey is the only fishery independent source of data for lobster stock assessment and advice. The project work will take place in June, and consists of a minimum of 80 stations to be completed annually.
