Various shelter roof replacement constructions at Mactaquac Fish Hatchery

Work site location: French Village, New Brunswick

DELIVERABLES / SCOPE OF WORK

All the picnic/information shelters located around the left wing and right wing of the Fish Ponds Structure at Mactaquac Biodiversity Facility require new roofs, and a couple of them need some minor structural reinforcement. The existing wood shingle roofs have decayed and corroded overtime, and therefore they have to be replaced. The total number of shelter roofs to be replaced is nine roofs.

Work under this contract includes but is not limited to:

• Remove and replace existing sheathing, flashings, fascia board and roofing materials with the specified new materials.
• Provide temporary supports as necessary
• Provide structural remediation where indicated on the drawings
• Remove surplus materials, clean any/all areas involved in the contract daily and upon completion of construction.

MANDATORY SITE VISIT

It is mandatory that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site. The site visits will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 and Monday, August 14, 2017. Bidders must attend one (1) of the two (2) sessions offered.

Bidders must communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than two (2) business days prior to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend. Bidders will be required to sign an attendance sheet. Bidders should confirm in their bid that they have attended the site visit. Bidders who do not attend the mandatory site visit or do not send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment and their bid will be declared non-responsive. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation

EXPECTED START AND COMPLETION DATES

The services of the Contractor will be commencing upon contract award. The expected completion date of this project is November 30, 2017.
