Project Description

 Rideau Canal: New railing, Ottawa, Ontario

The work consists to:

  • Supply and install on the Rideau Canal, a new railing system made of pre-cast concrete posts connected with an aluminum-polyamor hand rail;
  • Repair Some sections of the retaining Canal wall in poor condition, to allow the pre-cast concrete posts to be mounted on the wall;
  • Restore the site to original conditions;
  • Implement construction site management strategy to accommodate the Multi Use Pathway user during the construction works as the Pathway will remain open.

    The section of the Canal wall comprised between stations 11+150 and 11+340 will have temporary railings made of aluminum posts deeply anchored into the Canal wall and connected with black aluminum rails.

    The work limit extends from Dow’s Lake to Hog’s back road over approximately 2.4 kms.
