Description of Work:
Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is implementing digital technology modernization initiatives, which are comprised of a group of projects with the common objective to modernize LAC’s business functions from the acquisitions of digital materials through storage, preservation, and discovery by the Canadian Public. These include projects such as, but are not limited to:
As these projects have multiple, integrated deliverables along with separate timelines, there is a need for robust project management and additional Project Manager (PM) resource capacity. Expertise may be required to provide project planning and project management for various initiatives.
The key stakeholders of this initiative are the Government of Canada and LAC sectors. Project teams are multidisciplinary, being composed of members of the information technology; information management; business; programs; services and communications areas of expertise.
The primary challenge is the diversity of the work to accomplish within these areas, their overlapping nature, and the need to deliver a holistic solution. Therefore, project management requires understanding, regular communication, and documentation of project artifacts to benefit project stakeholders and project team members.
