    Description

    This contract was awarded to:

    Granite Management Limited

    The scope of work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment, and material for wharf construction at Bauline, NL. The work will be completed in strict accordance with the specification and accompanying drawings, and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.

    The project work will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

    • Demolition and removal of the existing wharf as shown on the drawings, with all the removed debris being disposed of at the Robin Hood Bay Provincial waste site. Note that creosote timber is present, which will require special handling and disposal.
    • Construction of a new crib finger pier wharf as indicated on the drawings.
    • Installation of Canada supplied structural timber for cribwork, wheel guard, wheel guard blocking, coping, wales, vertical wale supports, beams, ladders, fenders, boardwalk, and associated hardware. Note: The timber will be supplied FOB the SCH storage facility located at Donovan’s Industrial Park. Any shortfall of timber is to be supplied by the contractor.
    • Supply and installation of mooring cleats and mooring rings, as noted on the drawings.
    • Harbour dredging as noted on the drawings.

    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE

    Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 – Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
