    SCOPE OF WORK

    The scope of work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment, and material for launchway construction at Ochre Pit Cove, NL. The work will be completed in strict accordance with the specification and accompanying drawings, and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.

    The project work will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

    • Construction of a concrete launchway. Some existing armor stone removal will be required, along with the removal/excavation of loose material over bedrock to permit the scribing and seating of the launchway cribs at the design elevations.
    • Uplands re-shaping , grading, and the placement of Class B & A granulars and concrete slab on grade, along with the extension of the new wheelguard from the concrete launchway. 
    • Installation of 0.5 – 1.0 tonne packed-in rip rap on the side slope adjacent to the concrete slab and Crib #1.
    • Replacement of all asphalt damaged during construction. 

    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE

    Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure, and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies, and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 – Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
