The Privacy Commissioner of Canada is an Agent of Parliament whose mission is to protect and promote privacy rights. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) oversees compliance with the Privacy Act, which covers the personal information-handling practices of federal government departments and agencies, and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada’s federal private-sector privacy law. The OPC's mission is to protect privacy rights of individuals and promote public awareness and understanding of privacy issues.
OPC has developed many business applications using MS Dynamics Customer Relationship Management (CRM) 2016 and MS SharePoint 2016. These applications include the OPC Service Desk (IT/IM Requests, New Administration Services Requests, New Procurement Requests, User Account Management Form, Change Requests and Translation Requests), the Correspondence Tracking System (CTS), the Privacy Impact Assessment System (PIA), the Contract Database and the OPC’s Case Management System called Ci2 (Complaints, Inquiries and Investigations).
It is the desire of OPC to avoid customization in order to reduce the complexity of future upgrades, encourage standard business practices, and facilitate adoption of native workflow, and paperless transactions.
