Blockhouse Restoration Project, Fort George National Historic Site

Requirement:

Fort George National Historic Site requires a Contractor to perform all the work associated with the scheduled maintenance and heritage restoration of the three (3) Blockhouses and the Octagonal Blockhouse located within Fort George National Historic Site, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. The work will also include improvements to the rear ravelin palisade and exit gate surrounding the Octagonal Blockhouse. See specifications for further details on the requirements of this project.

To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between $500,001 and $ 1,000,000, taxes extra.

Mandatory Criteria

Bidders must demonstrate with their bid that they meet the mandatory requirements. Refer to Appendix 3 Qualifications Form for details.

Mandatory Site Visit:

It is mandatory that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held at Fort George National Historic Site, located at 51 Queens Parade, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON. L0S 1J0 on 04 July 2019. The site visit will begin at 1300 (local time).

Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than 03 July 2019 at 12:00 ADT to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend. Bidders will be required to sign an attendance sheet. Bids submitted by Bidders who have not signed the attendance sheet will be rejected. Bidders who do not attend or do not send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.

All inquiries of a technical and contractual nature are to be submitted to the Contracting Authority.

Enquiries regarding this bid must be submitted in writing and should be received no later than five (5) business days prior to the date set for solicitation closing to allow sufficient time to provide a response. Enquiries received after that time may result in an answer NOT being provided.

National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.

Bidders that consider themselves qualified to provide this Work and intend to submit bids on this project should obtain documents from the Government Electronic Tendering Service through the Government of Canada tendering service at www.buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders . Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.
