WORK DESCRIPTION
Fort Malden National Historic Site requires a Contractor to perform all the work associated with the Fort Malden Restoration Project.
Work of this contract comprises of the conservation of masonry, wood windows, cedar shingle roofing of the brick Barracks and Hough House, as well as minor landscape and pathway upgrades.
The proposed work will correct issues both cosmetic and structural currently affecting the appearance of the buildings, promote the long term preservation of the buildings and enhance the safety of the tourists visiting the site as well as Parks Canada staff. Fort Malden National Historic Site is a Parks Canada Agency asset. It is staffed by various Parks Canada staff and volunteers and visited by tourists from Canada and other countries.
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between $500,001 > $1,000,000, Taxes extra.
Period of Contract / DELIVERY DATE
The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work by November 1st, 2019
MANDATORY CRITERIA
Bidders must demonstrate with their bid that they meet the mandatory requirements. Refer to Appendix 3 for details.
SECURITY REQUIREMENT
There is a security requirement associated with this bid solicitation.

It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site.
Interested bidders are to meet on July 25, 2019 at 100 Laird Avenue, Amherstburg, Ontario.
The site visit will begin at 10:00AM .
Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than July 24, 2019 to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend. Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance sheet. Bidders who do not attend or do not send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.
ENQUIRIES
All inquiries of a technical and contractual nature are to be submitted to the Contracting Authority.
Enquiries regarding this bid must be submitted in writing and should be received no later than five (5) business/calendar days prior to the date set for solicitation closing to allow sufficient time to provide a response. Enquiries received after that time may result in an answer NOT being provided.
INFORMATION:
National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.
Bidders that consider themselves qualified to provide this Work and intend to submit bids on this project should obtain documents from the Government Electronic Tendering Service through the Government of Canada tendering service at www.buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders . Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.
The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
