LL 1411 Pier and Tower Replacement

Background:

LL 1411, The Narrows Shoal East is an aid to navigation (ATON) located in Lake of Bays. (Approximately 3 km North-West of Dorset, ON). The existing ATON tower has fallen over due to a deteriorated concrete foundation.

Work Summary:

Work under this Contract includes but is not limited to the provision of all labour, materials, and equipment required to:

• Mobilize to project site;
• Remove existing concrete foundation and return fallen tower to CCG Parry Sound Base;
• Construct new concrete tower foundation;
• Install new tower and daymark provided by CCG Parry Sound; and
• Demobilize.

Site is inaccessible by road and utilization of a suitable floating plan must be anticipated. 

CONSTRUCTION TIME

The Contractor must perform and complete all Work by November 8, 2019. See specifications for the project milestones.

Familiarization with the Site:

Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid or costs to do the work. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

Contractors, bidders or those they invite to site are to review the project specifications before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
