Requirement:
The work associated with this project includes the exterior renovation and/or restoration of Hawthorne Cottage National Historic Site. The work involves, but is not limited to, repairing and/or replacing a section of wood picket fence and minor regarding and removing accumulated organic material adjacent to a part of the building, removing and replacing a section of roofing materials and flashings, repair and/or replace some wood trim, exterior siding, paint removal that may contain lead and exterior paint of the building, and paint exterior woodwork and other various minor repairs. Some interior work such as repairing a damaged plaster ceiling, painting in a room, removing wallpaper and other minor interior works See specifications for further details on the requirements of this project.
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between $250,001 and $ 500,000, taxes extra.
Mandatory Criteria
Bidders must demonstrate with their bid that they meet the mandatory requirements. Refer to Appendix 3 Qualifications Form for details.
Optional Site Visit:
It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held at the main entrance to Hawthorne Cottage on 22 August 2019. The site visit will begin at 14:00 (local time).
Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than 21 August 2019 at 12:00 ADT to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend. Bidders will be required to sign an attendance sheet. Bidders who do not attend or do not send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.

All inquiries of a technical and contractual nature are to be submitted to the Contracting Authority.
Enquiries regarding this bid must be submitted in writing and should be received no later than five (5) business days prior to the date set for solicitation closing to allow sufficient time to provide a response. Enquiries received after that time may result in an answer NOT being provided.

National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.

Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.
The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
