The new Champlain Bridge corridor construction project is causing losses of fish habitat, wetland functions[1] and migratory bird habitats. Infrastructure Canada (INFC) has undertaken to offset these losses through several compensation projects. One of the chosen projects consist in the development of Lapierre Island to compensate for part of the loss of fish habitat in still water and for the loss of wetland functions.
