Scope:
Reconfiguration of floating docks systems of the fishing harbour of Cap-aux-Meules in the Magdalen Islands Region includes, without limitation, the following work:
The removal of the floating docks and the demolition of the anchoring system for the shoreline floating docks line, removal and reinstallation of power supply and water line, recovery of anchor blocks on stone protection, modification and reinstallation of blocks and floating docks of the shoreline with strong arm system, construction of a gangway base for the shoreline floating docks using treated wood beams supplied by DFO, use of some steel components supplied by the Departmental Representative, removal of floating docks and demolition of the floating docks line anchor system on the main breakwater, removal and reinstallation of power supply and water line, partial demolition of the main breakwater and recovery of anchor blocks, modification and reinstallation of blocks and floating docks of the main breakwater line on strong arm system, supply and installation of armour stone and reconstruction of the main breakwater, modification and consolidation of stone protection and installation of aluminum parts to receive power supply, lighting system and water line.
The services of the Contractor are required after contract award to perform Work of Phase 1 for completion no later than April 17th, 2020. Works of Phase 2 shall not begin prior to September 21st, 2020 and expected completion date of this project is December 18th, 2020.
FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure, and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies, and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 – Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
