Terra Nova National Park Utility Systems Recapitalization Phase 2 project includes the replacement of all distribution water main and services, & sanitary sewer main and services within various sections of the Newman Sound and Malady Head Campgrounds. Includes the water distribution main leaving the water treatment plant/pump house and the existing wood stave tank, water distribution mains, fire hose boxes and sanitary sewers in Newman Sound loops H,I,J,K,L,M and the dumping station area, as well as water main and fire hose boxes only in loops E,F,G,R & Q. Project works also include water services to kitchen shelters, new service lines to future water bottle filling stations and replacement of sanitary sewer services to existing washrooms with the exceptions of bldgs 29, 30, 37 & 38 in Newman Sound CG and also excluding the kitchen shelter and oTENTiks at Beach Cove in Malady Head CG.
CONSTRUCTION TIME
The Contractor must perform and complete the Work by October 29, 2021.
SITE VISIT
OPTIONAL SITE VISIT
There will be an optional site visit on August 19, 2020 at 11:00 am (local time), interested bidders are to meet at:
Terra Nova National Park - Administration Building
The Administration Building is on the Newman Sound Campground access road (200 metres off the
TCH). Attendees will congregate at that location and from there will convoy to the proposed
construction site/s.
Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority before the site visit to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend. Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance sheet. Bidders who do not attend or do not send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.
BID SECURITY:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between over & above $5,000,001 taxes extra.
ENQUIRIES
All enquiries of a technical and contractual nature are to be submitted to the Contracting Authority.
Enquiries regarding this bid must be submitted in writing and should be received no later than ten (10) calendar days prior to the date set for solicitation closing to allow sufficient time to provide a response. Enquiries received after that time may result in an answer NOT being provided.
INFORMATION:
National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act.
Bidders that consider themselves qualified to provide this Work and intend to submit bids on this project should obtain documents from the Government Electronic Tendering Service through the Government of Canada tendering service at www.buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders . Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.
The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
