Description of Work:

1.0 Objective

Shared Services Canada (SSC) has a requirement for B.13 - Operations Support Specialist(s) Level 2 with a valid security level of SECRET to support and augment the operational capacity of the Facilities Management Directorate within DCSB on an as and when required basis.

The Operations Support Specialist will be functionally tasked by the EDC Facilities Management Team Lead. 

2.0 Background

Shared Services Canada (SSC) Enterprise Data Centre (EDC) Facilities provides a service to all 43 Government Departments with the delivery of day to day Data Centre facility operations and is mandated to consolidate and modernize the Government of Canada’s data centres.

The objective in centralizing the management of data centres is to improve efficiency and security and the plan is to replace legacy data centres across our partner organizations with more modern, secure, reliable facilities. 

The EDC Facilities Operations (EFO) service line provides power, space, racking and stacking, cabling and capacity for a number of government departments. EFO has a commitment to partners and clients to meet and maintain all day-to-day operations and services as well as provide for future expansion.

The Operations Support Specialist(s) will work under the Rack and Stack Team Leader and be responsible for assisting the EFO teams at EDC Barry and/or Borden with the day to day operational tasks and incident, problem and change management.

3.0 Scope

This TBIPS-SA is for the provision of two (or more) B.13 Operations Support Specialist(s) Level 2 to provide hands on day-to-day services in support of the SSC rack and stack team. This position may require occasional overtime based on project/operational requirements. If the skills set permits, the resource may work on various projects at the same time.

The following Technologies are in scope (but not limited to):

   2. Microsoft Office Solutions Software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access)

   3. Network and cabling

      7.0 Location of Work

      The resource must be able to work on-site at EDC Gatineau or EDC Montreal. The resource will be dedicated to one of the EDCs. This requirement will be detailed within the Task Authorization of each resource. 

• Bidders must submit two (2) resources in total.
