Bait Depot Loading Dock Replacement, Port au Choix, NL
The scope of work for this project includes, but is not limited to; the provision of construction activities for the removal and disposal of a reinforced concrete loading ramp and foundations from the existing bait depot and the construction of a new reinforced concrete loading ramp including, foundations, steps and pipe railing. The work covered consists of the furnishing of all of all plant, labour, equipment and material for these improvements at Port au Choix, Newfoundland and Labrador in strict accordance with specifications and accompanying drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.
In general, the work under this contract will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:
.1 Saw-cut, removal and disposal of existing reinforced concrete apron and existing asphalt pavement from around the existing loading ramp as indicated on the drawings.
.2 Removal and disposal of the existing electrical conduits, wiring and concrete encasements as shown on the drawings. Contractor to confirm prior to removal.
.3 Demolition, removal and disposal of existing reinforced concrete ramp, loading area slabs, reinforced concrete foundation wall, steps and pipe railings as shown on the drawings.
.4 Construction of a new reinforced concrete ramp loading area and steps. Installation of new pipe railing and bollards as detailed on the drawings.
.5 Installation of new reinforced concrete apron infill 150mm thick.
.6 Installation of new asphalt pavement infill 65mm thick.
.7 All as indicated on accompanying drawings and specifications hereto.
FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure, and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies, and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 – Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
