BACKGROUND:
Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) owns and operates the Selkirk Coast Guard Base in Selkirk, Manitoba. As part of the life cycle building management process, DFO requires a Contractor to refurbish/replace the HVAC system which serves the main building at the Selkirk Coast Guard Base.
The project is located at Selkirk Coast Guard Base, 632 N. Main Street, Selkirk, Manitoba. The site is accessible by road and occupied by the Canadian Coast Guard.
Construction is expected to extend from award across approximately two fiscal years with a break during the cold winter months.
DELIVERABLES/SCOPE OF WORK:
Work under this construction contract comprises labour, materials, and equipment required to refurbish/replace HVAC equipment according to project plans and specifications.
Equipment to be replaced under this construction contract includes but is not limited to the following:
1. One air handling unit;
2. Six ceiling fans;
3. One condensing unit;
4. Twelve exhaust fans;
5. Two boilers;
6. Three pumps;
7. Five force flow heaters;
8. Two unit heaters; and
9. Nine radiant heaters.
OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:
Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid or costs to do the work. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
Contractors, bidders or those they invite to site are to review specification Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
