Advocate Harbour Shore Protection #601, Cumberland County, NS

Scope of Work:

The work of this portion of the contract involves repairs to an existing armour stone shore protection installation in Advocate Harbour, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, which includes but is not limited to:

1. Mobilization and demobilization of all equipment required for full scope of work;
2. Supply, delivery and installation of geotextile (filter fabric) as per plans;
3. Supply, delivery and installation of filter stone (400-600 kg each) as per plans;
4. Supply, delivery and installation of armour stone (4-6 tonne each) as per plans;
5. Supply, delivery and installation of Class A gravel on approach to wharf alongside newly repaired shore protection;

All in accordance with the requirements of these specifications and drawings listed on the Index to Specifications and Drawings, construction schedule and Time and Order of Completion.

FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE

Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure, and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies, and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 – Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
