    An ACAN is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that a department or agency intends to award a contract for goods, services or construction to a pre-identified supplier, thereby allowing other suppliers to signal their interest in bidding, by submitting a statement of capabilities.

    The Department of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) requires a service provider that will develop a methodology based on medical CT-Scan imagery to simulate flow in porous media at different scales (micro-, meso, and macro).The work will require a 3D study of fluid flow and heat transfer at the pore scale in geomaterials in order to support the geothermal energy modeling in the Bécancour project.

    Any interested supplier must demonstrate by way of a statement of capabilities that it meets the following requirements: 

    • Have access to a CT-Scan and a micro-scan ;
    • Have at least 3 years of experience in rock core scanning and processing;
    • Use open source software for modeling;
    • Have at least 5 years experience in flow modeling in porous media.
