The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) owns and operates a Canadian Coast Guard Base in Prescott, Ontario. An unheated, pre-engineered metal building on the base, known as Building F, has many building components that are at or have exceeded their normal life expectancy. As part of the normal life cycle process, DFO requires a general contractor to restore and upgrade Building F’s building envelope, electrical, and lighting systems based on prepared construction drawings and specifications.
Optional Site Visit Plan:
Bidders will meet promptly at 11am.
Prior to coming to site, they should complete the attached questionnaire as a self-check (the attachment has both the English and French versions) and should not come to the meeting if they answer yes to questions 1 to 3. When bidders arrive on site, they should park in the parking lot off King Street. Once parked, bidders should meet me in the parking lot near the gate into the base yard. They will be required to give their name, affiliation, and contact number. The Departmental Representative will take attendance and lead bidders on a walk around the site to allow them to view existing conditions. Questions should be submitted to the contracting authority and answers will be provided to all bidders through addenda. Safety boots should be worn.
