    Launchway, Slipway and Wharf Repairs, Daniel’s Harbour, NL

    The scope of work for this project consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for launchway, slipway and wharf repairs, in Daniel’s Harbour, NL in strict accordance with specifications and accompanying drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.

    In general, the work under this contract will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

    .1 Demolition, removal and disposal of the existing boat launchway including wheelguard, wood decking and timber cribs as noted on the drawings.

    .2 Demolition, removal and disposal of the existing asphalt/concrete upland area as indicated on the drawings. Placement of new asphalt/concrete parking and turnaround.

    .3 Removal and disposal of slipway wood timber deck, wheelguard and vertical fenders and installation of new timber deck, wheelguard and vertical fenders. Also, modifications to existing slipway slope as noted on the drawings.

    .4 Removal and disposal of the wood deck and sleepers from existing boat storage area and replace with new concrete slab.

    .5 Partial or total demolition and removal of wheelguards, fenders, ladders and mooring rings from existing wharf and replace with new as shown on drawings.

    .6 Construction of a new 22.183m long by 4.876.0m wide crib/concrete launchway.

    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE

    Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure, and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies, and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 – Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
