Her Majesty as represented by the Department of Foreign Affairs Trade and Development (DFATD) has initiated a relocation of its Embassy in Dakar, Senegal. The Department has obtained market information and has completed a preliminary feasibility study. The study is recommending land acquisition with a Crown construction solution to be pursued. Should market availability be limited, a lease option could be considered.
Canada’s Chancery in Dakar no longer meets operational requirements due to space issues. The objective is to establish a long-term solution, allowing this ever-growing Mission to continue to deliver its program objectives.The initial drivers of the relocation is to provide the requisite space to address continued growth, notably in the Immigration program, over the coming years.
