The Department of National Defence (DND) has a requirement for the items detailed below:
Description: Flare, Target Marking, 38 mm – Radar Flare
The Radar Flare provides survivors in inflatable life rafts and other small craft with a means of signalling their position to searching ships and aircraft in adverse visibility conditions. Its dual purpose payload also allows its use in clear conditions for a visual indication of the location of the chaff cloud. The Radar Flare can also be used for:
• Distress signalling
• Radar confusion
• Radar training and testing
• Terrain mapping
• Radar range calibration
Quantities: 2022 – 2 Inert Training Units
– 1,056 Operational Units
2025 – 528 Operational Units
Option Quantities: 2024 – 528 Operational Units
2026 – 528 Operational Units
2027 – 528 Operational Units
Unit of Issue: Each
Delivery Locations: Inert Training Units - Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot (CFAD) Bedford - Bedford, Nova Scotia
Operational Units - CFAD Bedford and CFAD Dundurn - Dundurn, Saskatchewan
For each specified year, and each option year exercised, 50% of all Operational Units will be deliverable to CFAD Dundurn - Dundurn, Saskatchewan and 50% of all Operational Units will be deliverable to CFAD Bedford.
Required Delivery Date: 2022 – Within 32 weeks after the date of Contract
2025 – Between 01 January and 15 February 2025
For each Option exercised – Between 01 January and 15 February of the applicable year.

There are no security requirements associated with this procurement.
2. Controlled Goods
This procurement is not subject to the Controlled Goods Program.
3. Trade Agreements
This procurement is subject to the provisions of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).
