By means of the RFP, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is seeking proposals from bidders to
acquire airborne topo-bathymetric LiDAR data on parts of the Kinojevis, L'Assomption, Maskinongé, du Loup and Yamaska rivers. The LiDAR data that will be acquired as part of this project will be used, notably, to produce new, accurate and consistent flood maps, in collaboration with the Government of Quebec. The LiDAR data will also be used to create a high resolution digital elevation model of the area for the National Elevation Data Strategy. The Area of Interest totals 191 km² (401 linear km).
The data must be collected between September 1 and November 15, 2022, inclusive, and when there is no snow on the ground. The end of the acquisition period could differ slightly depending on the region and weather conditions.
The estimated period of the contract is from the date of contract Award to March 31, 2023 inclusive.
