The Department of National Defence (DND) has a requirement for conducting Proprietary Maintenance on the Polar Epsilon (PE) Near Real-time Ship Detection (NRTSD) System. The primary objectives of the NRTSD Operations and Maintenance Phase are to operate and maintain the NRTSD System, which includes a RADARSAT-2 reception and processing site in Aldergrove, British Columbia, a reception-only site in Masstown, Nova Scotia, together with support workstations at the RJOC facilities in Esquimalt, British Columbia and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Archival equipment located at CCRS, Ottawa as well as an Order Desk located at DND in Ottawa also form part of the NRTSD System. Maintenance and support services for the NRTSD system are anticipated to include upgrades, patches, fixes and renames for the purpose of continuing the intended use of the original software. Services will be provided on an “as an when requested” basis and authorized through the issuance of Task Authorizations (TAs), within the parameters specified in the contract(s), provided there are sufficient funds remaining in the contract(s).
