The Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food has a requirement for an Automated Droplet Generator. Our lab currently has a Bio-Rad QX200 ddPCR system. The main system components are a manual droplet generator (capable of generating droplets for 8 samples at a time with manual pipetting), a plate sealer and a droplet reader. We have the requirement for a higher throughput with reduced manual input. The current manual generation is time consuming and introduces variability through manual pipetting.
