Provide all labour, sub-contractors, supervision, tools, equipment, and materials required to provide in-service support to the dam de-icing piping at Rideau Falls. This requirement concerns only the pipe system for dam de-icing, from the valve chamber at the West Dam to the farthest end of the East Dam, but not including the underground piping on Green Island (see Figure 16). "In-service support" consists of: • assistance during start-up of the system and its shut-down (system checks, manipulating drain and vent valves) • annual cleaning, condensate purging, and filling pipe with nitrogen after the de-icing season; • annual inspections and reports • ultrasonic thickness testing in years 1 and 5; and, • repairs on an as-and-when required basis, which may include repair work to be done outside of regular working hours.
