GREEN PUBLIC PROCUREMENT TOOL FOR FEDERAL ASSETS

The requirement is the configuration of a pre-existing green product database (software as a service) known as the Product Search Tool (tool), which is currently used by the United States (U.S.) General Services Administration (GSA) and other large U.S-based organizations(e.g., the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council, Stanford University and the U.S. Green Building Council’s Materials for LEED). The supplier must configure this tool to make it relevant to PSPC and must include no less than 40 groups of products in specific categories. Having access to the customized database will enable PSPC’s procurement officers to easily and confidently recommend and procure environmentally preferable products. This configured search feature must allow PSPC and clients to search brands and products available in Canada (and internationally) with integrated environmental performance attributes that are verified and up-to-date. The tool must also consolidate applicable Canadian environmental performance claims, certifications, technical standards, sustainability programs, and specifications into one online resource per category as applicable. It will support the procurement needs of Contracting Authorities (CAs), other government departments, building managers, and leasing specialists.
