The Department of National Defence (DND) has a requirement to establish a domestic manufacturing capability for Point Detonating Delay Artillery Fuzes (PDD Artillery Fuzes) for use with 105mm and 155mm High Explosive Projectiles. The current requirement represents the first phase of this process. Under the auspices of the Munitions Supply Program, GD-OTS-C will be requested to provide: - 90,000 PDD Artillery Fuzes, model PD602, from Junghans Defence (OEM); - a manufacturing level Technical Data Package (TDP) for PD602 under the condition that the OEM receives transfer authorization from the German government; - a manufacturing license agreement (MLA) for PD602; and - an initial plan for the transition of knowledge and increasing Canadian content for the manufacture of PD602 in the future.
