City of Calgary - Request for Proposal - 24-1714 Short Messaging Service (SMS) and SMS Alert system for Calgary Transit (CT) Teletext and Transit Watch (MMS)

1. This RFP is open to all interested vendors; 2. The City of Calgary (“The City”) is seeking proposals from providers to set up and host Calgary Transit (CT) Short Messaging Service (SMS) and SMS/MMS Alert system for Calgary Transit Watch (MMS). The supplier will provide subscription service to CT customers and set up and manage a service to respond to text message and Teletext requests for scheduling information from customers to a short code and also for Transit Watch. The anticipated contract would provide for both a minimum annual revenue guarantee and a percentage revenue share to The City, from advertising scripts through CT SMS; 3. This procurement process is not intended to create, and, will not create, a formal, legally binding bidding process. It will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations; 4. The Agreement will be for an initial Term of five (5) years. After the initial term, the Agreement may be extended up to two (2) times for one (1) year each time, not to exceed seven (7) years in total.
