The Town of Stony Plain (Town) is seeking a contractor to complete the 43rd Street Reconstruction in Stony Plain, AB. The current condition of the roadway has reached the end of its service life. While the deep utilities are not in terminal condition, the Town will benefit both from a financial and design perspective by replacing the utilities at the same time. Additionally, replacing the curb and sidewalk will improve transportation and pedestrian safety.
The Work to be undertaken is generally described as: 43rd Street Reconstruction and includes the following scope of work.
• Asphalt & Concrete Removals
• Road Construction
• Concrete Work
• Deep Utility Replacement
This project will be broken up into two phases to lower schedule risk and increase flexibility.
In Phase 1, the full utility replacement for water and sanitary mains along 43rd Street, from 44th Avenue to 41st Avenue, will be completed, with road reconstruction focused only on the northern segment (42nd Avenue to 41st Avenue). All existing utilities will be abandoned in place. The trench for utility replacement between 42nd Avenue and 44th Avenue will be temporarily filled.
In Phase 2, the remaining road reconstruction from 42nd Avenue to 44th Avenue will be finished.
Note: This procurement is subject to Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 14 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2025/06/26.
