    Description
Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (the “Department”) has received Alberta Government approval to proceed with procurement of the design and build (the “Delivery Method”) of the Peace Region Bridge Size Culvert Replacement Project (the “Project”), being the replacement of seven (7) bridge size culverts in the vicinity of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. In summary, the Project consists of the removal and replacement of the bridge size culverts noted below. The bridge size culvert sites are separate, but are all within an approximately 75 km radius: BF 86058, located over the Winagami/Girouxville Canal, approximately 270 metres east of Range Road 220 and 430 metres south of Township Road 782 (near Falher, Alberta); BF 86062, carrying Range Road 210 over the Winagami/Girouxville Canal, approximately 1.6 kilometres north of the intersection of Highway 49 and Range Road 210 (near Donnelly, Alberta); BF 86061, located over the Winagami/Girouxville Canal, approximately 780 metres west of Highway 2 and 1.6 kilometres north of Highway 49 (near Donnelly, Alberta); BF 78164, carrying Highway 2 over the Winagami/Girouxville Canal, and approximately 1.6 kilometres north of the intersection of Highway 49 and Highway 2 (near Donnelly, Alberta); BF 76230, located over a tributary to the Little Smoky River at the intersection of Township Road 770 and Highway 744 (near Girouxville, Alberta); BF 74829, carrying Highway 676 over Clouston Creek (near Guy, Alberta); and BF 86389, located over the Winagami/Girouxville Canal, approximately 780 metres east of Highway 744 and 490 metres north of Township Road 782 (near Girouxville, Alberta). The Project will be procured using the Delivery Method. The RFQ phase of the procurement will be followed by a Request for Proposals (“RFP”), which will culminate in an agreement (the “Agreement”). The procurement process and the Agreement will be based in large measure upon the successful processes and agreements realized in the West Calgary Ring Road design-builds that were completed in December 2024, and the Deerfoot Trail Improvements design-build executed in April 2023, modified to suit the smaller and more focused scope of the Project.

    Contract duration

The estimated contract period will be 19 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2026/02/26.
