Public Safety and Emergency Services - Request for Proposal - ASPS Framework Implementation Project

On July 2, 2025, the new Independent Agency Police Service, which was first introduced by the Public Safety Statutes Amendment Act, 2024, and now named the Alberta Sheriff Police Service (ASPS), was created by regulation. The ASPS will allow current police-like functions performed by the Alberta Sheriffs as peace officers, to be conducted by police officers under the authority of the Police Act. The ASPS will also be a law enforcement option for municipalities, should they choose to do so. The Province requires a project management and logistics team to support the ASPS transition from its foundational phase into operational readiness.
