Description
Grande Spirit Foundation (GSF) is seeking bids from qualified contractors to complete the Heritage Lodge Dining Room Fireplace Replacement as outlined in the Bid & Contract Package for Project GSF-25-001-B. This opportunity involves the removal of the existing out-of-service natural gas fireplace and the installation of a new electric fireplace assembly, along with associated framing, insulation, finishing, and chimney sealing work.
The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following (see Schedule B – Description of Work):
Removal of the existing gas fireplace and permanent capping of the gas line
Cutting and insulating the existing chimney flue and installing a secure metal cap (Drawings M01)
Framing the former fireplace opening with 2x4 construction, batt insulation, and vapor barrier (Drawing M02)
Installation of a new electric fireplace (Napoleon Ascent 33 or equivalent) utilizing the existing dedicated electrical circuit
Finishing the fireplace opening with drywall and matte-black trim or tile (Drawing M03)
All required City of Grande Prairie building permits and inspections
Site safety, protection of residents, and housekeeping throughout the work
There are no optional components or alternate pricing structures requested. Contractors must price the complete scope as a stipulated fixed price, including all labour, materials, permits, travel, and related costs (see Bid and Contract Form – Stipulated Price Requirement).
A mandatory site visit is required for all bidders (see Instructions to Bidders, Section: “Examination of Site”).
Bidders who miss the scheduled date must coordinate an alternate site visit directly with GSF prior to bid closing.

This procurement will result in a fixed-price construction contract, with all work to be completed by February 28, 2026.
