Alberta Utilities Commission - Request for Proposal - AUC-26-04 Future electric distribution rate design in Alberta

The AUC is seeking one or more experts to prepare a report with recommendations on potential changes to distribution rate design in Alberta based on the expert’s academic/theoretical knowledge, research and assessment of distribution rate design, a review of distribution rate design in other jurisdictions, including best practices and learnings, and feedback obtained from participants in an Alberta industry consultation. The report will provide defensible and practical recommendations for improvements to rate design for Alberta’s regulated distribution utilities, and include an assessment of the impacts of these changes on customers and how any material impacts can be mitigated. The AUC is inviting responses from interested proponents who have a background in rate design for regulated electric utilities. Specific experience and/or academic knowledge related to electric distribution rate design is preferred, with reference to academic publications or regulatory documents (i.e., evidence in regulatory proceedings, etc.)
