City of Lacombe - Request for Proposal - REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL BIG DIPPER AND 55 AVE PLAYGROUND REPLACEMENTS

Replacement of Big Dipper Playground and 55 Avenue Playgrounds shall be done with similar and improved versions of play units, accommodating comparable ages while adding adult aerobic exercise equipment to each playground. Considering the size and location of the parks, we expect a more significant investment at Big Dipper Playground. A total budget, not to exceed $316,700 plus GST, is allocated towards removing, designing, purchasing, and delivering the equipment, protective surfacing, and borders applicable to the project. Price is to include removal and disposal of existing playground structures, freight to sites, offloading and storage if needed, installation, concrete, auguring, removal of tailings, installation of protective surfacing, and installation of borders. The equipment and design shall be distinctive (a theme is welcome) and foster the development of motor, sensory, and social skills. The equipment shall include activities for both quiet and group interactions. A complementary mix of climbing, agility, spinning, and sliding activities are required while being different from traditional playgrounds. The layouts' fluid flow shall allow for play patterns, which inspire playful and engaging interactions for children.
