Lac La Biche County - Request for Proposal - Highway 55 Signature Walking Trail Conceptual Design Services

The County of Lac La Biche (the “County”) invites proposals from qualified consulting firms for the proposed Highway 55 Walking Trail Project (the “Project”) in Lac La Biche, Alberta. Proposals shall include two (2) to four (4) high-level conceptual design options and preliminary order-of-magnitude cost estimates. The County of Lac La Biche envisions the proposed walkway as more than a functional transportation corridor. It is intended to become a defining public space and landmark feature that reflects the County’s identity, enhances community pride, and creates a memorable experience for residents and visitors. The design should seamlessly integrate movement, community, and visual impact, transforming a simple walkway into a destination. This assignment is intended to identify, evaluate, and recommend conceptual design options that incorporate architecturally enhanced features supporting placemaking and community identity. The successful Proponent will present the design alternatives and evaluation findings to the County to support the selection of a preferred option. Once selected, the preferred option will be refined to a more detailed conceptual design level. Detailed engineering design is outside the scope of this phase and may be commissioned separately to the successful Proponent.
