University of Calgary - Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement - Benchtop flow cytometer with small particle detector

The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase the BD FACSymphony™ A1 Cell Analyzer, including the BD High Throughput Sampler and BD FACFlow Supply System, along with a 48-month all inclusive service coverage, for a CFI funded research program, Ecology-driven microbiome editing for gut health. The combination of functional details is unique to the Becton Dickinson system and needed for the Department of Biological Sciences research program. It is the University’s understanding that Becton Dickinson is the sole Canadian distributor of the BD FACSymphony™ A1 Cell Analyzer is a proprietary system of Becton, Dickinson and company. For all the BD FACSymphony™ A1 instrument configurations including Small Particle Detection technology. The BD FACSymphony™ A1 Cell Analyzer photomultiplier tube to get high sensitivity and have 16 fluorescent channels which is a vital component and integral for the purposes of this research. Becton Dickinson is the sole distributor of this component to the University’s knowledge. Inclusive of a 48 month warranty and service post delivery and installation.
