Description
The University of Calgary (UCalgary) CTRC Lab requires assay materials and processing services to support research with minimal residual disease (MRD) testing in Multiple Myeloma. UCalgary’s objective is to contract with a service provider who can achieve ultra-high sensitivity results able to detect one malignant cell among one million healthy cells (10-6).
In accordance with these requirements, UCalgary intends to purchase the clonoSEQ MRD assay materials and processing services from Adaptive Biotechnologies Corporation. The indicated assay is the only known test that meets the technical requirements and is a first good in Canada that will be used for research and field testing. This proprietary assay, owned and exclusively provided by Adaptive Biotechnologies, is protected by intellectual property rights, including patents, unique assay design, specialized reagents, and closed-source bioinformatics algorithms required for clonotype identification, MRD quantification, and longitudinal disease tracking.
Due to these exclusive intellectual property protections and licensing restrictions, no other supplier is authorized or capable of providing the clonoSEQ assay or an equivalent solution. It is the lab’s understanding that only Adaptive’s clonoSEQ MRD Assay Materials is capable of meeting their ultra-high sensitivity requirements.
